Being Intentional Starts With Wisdom

Welcome back to another blog. It has been way too long since I have uploaded one for you guys but I am back!

As I have written in my previous blog, the theme for this year is about intentionality. We must be intentional about the choices we make that align with not only our goals, but also with our faith and values.

The Bible states in Ephesians 5:15-16: ‘Be very careful, then, how you live not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.’ This demonstrates that we must be intentional about the decisions we make, use opportunities purposefully and live with wisdom; as it is the most significant thing we can pursue in life. Proverbs 4:7 says that; ‘Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding.’

Wisdom is the ability to make good judgement. According to an article written by Ben Dean Ph.D. wisdom is produced through both knowledge and experience. However, whilst this is true, God is the predominant foundation of wisdom. True wisdom flows from Him. This is stated in Proverbs 2:6 where it declares; ‘For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.’ Without true wisdom from God, we cannot make valuable and impactful decisions.

As we have entered into the fifth month of 2026; the month that symbolises God’s grace, favour, and goodness, how have you been intentional so far this year? Have you made meaningful decisions that align with everything you set out to do in 2026? Have you used your opportunities purposefully and have you allowed God to guide you?

To be intentional is to first discover your WHY? What is it that God has set out for you to do? Why does this matter to you? And how are your choices impacting not only your own life but the lives of others around you?

Once you begin to understand your purpose you can begin to prioritise the things that truly align with your values and start building routine and structure that gets you to that goal.

Finally, the courage to say no. Intentionality also requires discipline; having the willpower to say yes to what contributes to your goals and no to anything that distracts you from them. This is how you remain intentional.

I pray that for the next seven months of this year, you will allow God to use you to make the right decisions for your life. In Psalm 32:8 It states; ‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.’ In this verse God is promising to guide and protect you in whatever you choose to do.

He will never leave you, nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). I pray that you will allow God to lead and guide you, to make decisions that aligns with his purpose for you. Set the Lord at the centre of your life, be intentional with your relationship with Him and watch how everything comes into place for you (Romans 8:28).

God bless x

Intentional

Happy New Year Everyone!  We have made it into 2026 by Gods grace and his mercy.  I don’t know about you but I feel so honoured and incredibly grateful to have made it through yet another year. Another 365 chances to begin again, pursue that dream, to make a positive impact, to live according to Gods word and to fulfill his purpose in my life.  2026 is the year of intentionality.  To be intentional about every decision you make. Intentionality means to act with a purpose; making choices that align with your faith, goals and your values.  In the Book of 1 Corinthians 10:31, it states;  “ So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”  As followers of Christ, the choices that we make should be intentional toward honouring and bringing glory to God in everything we do, every single day.  As we have now entered the new year of 2026, the goal is to be intentional about giving glory to God, not just with your words but thr...
